The Sunday Scan

I have a whole world of images that need scanning. Photos from my childhood, from the Hubsters childhood, family photos, slides, artwork. You name it, I've got it!

I've decided to start a weekly series called "The Sunday Scan". I think if I dedicate a time in which to do my scanning, I may have better luck achieving some results! This is my attempt at forward planning. LOL

So, for today's Sunday Scan - a painting from the archives.

Musty in the Attic, says DC. 1985

I painted this during my final year at KCAI, sometime in 1985. The title is compliments of an old boyfriend. I remember rolling my eyes at his suggestion but also thought it was pretty spot on. I had been interested in creating a decrepit surface, dusty and worn. I used a paint brush in the prelimary stages but after that, heavily worked the surface with a pallet knife, carving into the paint and gouging it. My colour pallet remained intentionally muted and drab.

I remember thoroughly enjoying the process for this painting. It was a stepping stone towards future work for me.

If you have some scanning to do as well, why not join me in "The Sunday Scan".

P.S. Dust your slides first. I'm terrible about remembering that!!!

When are you going to treat us to a new painting? I think its time. Your work is fantastic.

It's my goal this year. :-) I would love to do that!!
Great art. Yes, get back Mum.

You're right about finding a dedicated time to scan. That's the only way I was able to get one of dh's sister's albums done so he could return it.
I'd love to join in your Sunday Scan, it should motivate me to start scanning all the stuff I've been meaning to for ages.
