Blurscapes
I've started a new exploration. Whenever we take a road trip, I like to snap photos out the car window as we whiz by. I call them 'blurscapes'. What interests me most, is not a crisp delineation of a nature scape, but the colour impressions. 'Blurscapes' are my attempt to capture the colour.
Last Sunday, we took a little trip to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, a beautiful nature park about 30 minutes drive from Canberra. Our late morning drive coincided with a dramatic looking sky, but only a bit of rain fell as we traveled down the road. The colours were sensational thanks to the ever changing low hanging clouds.
Our initial plan was to see the newly opened 'Sanctuary' exhibit, but due to our late start, we didn't actually manage this. That was ok. There was still the playground, which our 3 year old had not yet seen and the musical entertainment, which he loves to watch.
We had a lovely time in the bush and will return for more exploring and more blurscapes!
My hope/plan is to work with these photos to create paintings or drawings. So far, I've collected quite a lot of images, but haven't started on a new creative process with them. Hopefully, by sharing what I've been experimenting with so far, it will provide me with the kick in the pants to get motivated further!!
This one was really unusual amongst the group as it is so dark. We occasionally passed by large groupings of dark trees, some burnt out shells of their former self, left over corpses of their former life before the Canberra fires in 2003. I think that is what I captured here.

I can't wait to see what you end up doing with them.
I am going to try and take some myself on my next roadtrip.
It's really fun to see what happens when one just snaps away. I highly recommend!
