Quick post

We just watched My Neighbor Totoro, directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

I can't believe I haven't seen this before! I loved it! So beautifully done. Just fantastic. I don't have much to say right now - click on the link to read about this film. But I just wanted to share! I think the image above says it all.

All this guys stuff is cool!!! David's sister lived in Japan for a few years so she wanted to own some of these great movies.

A classic one is Howl's Moving Castle! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howl%27s_Moving_Castle_%28film%29
Not really child friendly I don't think, but all of these movies have an amazing quality to them. David & I sat through a few of them during a weak recovery phase last year.

Glad to hear others have discovered them...but I hadn't seen your recommendation. I'll keep my eye out for it...

(((hugs)))

P.S. We went to see Justine Clarke in concert today & heard that she was heading to Canberra on the 18th. I don't know if Magnus would like it - Eric was absolutely GOBSMACKED. Live music is just wonderful...anyway, sending my recommendation!

Love to all there. Hope you are keeping warm & dry?

Totoro!!
Daichi loves it too. We also have DVDs 'Kiki's Delivery Service', 'Laputa', 'Porco Rosso'...
and more!!
In sick we spend time watching these great movies. Mr.Miyazaki is one of an important person which Japan can be proud of.

Omigosh. This brought back so many memories. When my son was little, we used to watch that movie together over and over again. It was by far our favorite. Thank you for reminding me of it.

I love Miyazake's movies, especially Totoro. I always feel like hubby & I are the only ones who know about them, so it's cool to see that other people do, too.

Totoro is one of my all time favourite movies! I own it in both Japanese and English (the first DVD I bought of it, I assumed had the Japanese, but was only the English dubbed version).

Sadly, the English has lost a touch of the cuteness in the translation, but it's still adorable.
