Christa Bowen
Yesterday, I learned that a very dear friend of mine was killed in a car accident. She was only 35 years old and leaves behind a rock of a husband and two darling 6 year old boys. Today is her funeral. To say that life is unfair is an understatement.
I am thinking of you today, Christa. I cannot believe that I will never have the pleasure of your quick wit or the support of your undying loyalty again. It was only a few days ago that she wished me gentle days for the lead up to our anniversary week. And only a few weeks ago, she protected me from a verbal assault online. Christa had the backs of all her friends. A tiny 4 foot 11 inch warrior, she was. Feisty, funny, quick witted, loyal, cheerful. That's Christa.
I'm so very very sorry. My heart is with her family, today and always.

Thinking of her, her family and her friends tonight...
Keep thinking about something many of us have talked about: how very real our friendships are, how very real the grief for Christa's death is for us. And yet in our everyday lives, people hear about our broken hearts and minimize that these connections are "just virtual". I'm trying to make an effort to visit all of you who I love and treasure so much and tell you that you are so NOT virtual to me. I wish I could hug you in person.
Just ... I don't know... just xoxo's to you... remembering Christa with you...

...still can't get myself to comprehend the loss & it brings back memories of other sudden unexpected losses. It has totally thrown me...she was certainly one in a million, & your post made me smile as I pictured her in "feisty mode"!
((((hugs))))
P.S. Your word verfication today was like the word "derailed" - which is exactly how I feel...
I sent an insensitive e-mail a few days ago. I didn't know it...
I'm so sorry.
