This is.......my favourite childhood joke

In my early years, I shared a room with my very big brother. I was probably around 4 years old when one night while tucked neatly in my little bed, I remember him asking, "Hey Karen, wanna hear a joke??" He had a small collection of joke and riddle books that he'd look at before bed. So I chimed from my little bed, "Sure!"

"What's big and red and eats rocks??"

I thought and thought. What could it be. I offered a few suggestions but I was completely stumped. "What's big and red and eats rocks......" huh........

My brother snickers and calls out, "A big red rock eater!!"

I remember laughing and laughing and laughing. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard in my life and I just thought my big brother was the greatest for telling me that very funny joke. He laughed a lot just to see me laugh so hard, I reckon. I felt like he actually liked me!! I still remember that moment and still remember the joke. I've told the bubster it but I don't think he's quite ready to appreciate it!
This is me with my big brother, back in the early 70's. I was about 8 here.

Thank you Angela, for the 'free form' This is... for this week. It's going to be fun to see what everyone has come up with!!

I remember telling my little brother a joke very similar to that one... : )

I love the joke. My current favourite is 'A dyslexic man walks into a bra ....' (I know it's probably very offensive to people who are dyslexic).

Thanks for the post.

That's very funny! I think all big brothers must have shared the same joke book - or at least visited the same joke library! I still laugh at corny jokes to this day!

d this joke to no less than 5 people in two days, and everyone laughs. My two year old made up his own version of the joke yesterday and about died laughing at himself, lol.
I remember loving that joke as well. A great moment with your brother and you, a lovely story.
