Silly sewing mistakes

Have you ever made one of those silly sewing mistakes? Come on, fess up. :-)

Here is mine for today:I've been working on some totes. I thought it was time. So I'm sewing along, la la la. Yes, it's fun. Imagine what I discovered upon completing the bag body?? Can you guess?

Yes, it's true. I discovered that the pocket has been sewn on upside down. Who did that?? Certainly not me! Well, ok. It was me. And I'd not even had a glass of wine or anything! I do have a very distracting 4 year old though, does that count?

So I went in search of my seam ripper. Do you suppose it was where it should be? No, of course not. And what about the extra ones I keep on hand. AWOL. It required about a 20 minute search through everything twice. Found it on the floor under the ironing board? How did it get there? I always put it back. Every time! (Hmmmm........I've already mentioned the distracting 4 year old....)

I couldn't face removing it completely so I unpicked the top edge and attached the lower edge. Unfortunately, the sewing does not measure up to my standards. Oh well! I'll keep this one then! Next one for blog giveaway. And I've learned a great lesson. All good in the end.

What has been your crazy mishap of late?

You made me laugh!
I usually do silly things like cutting things out with the fabric print upside down.

Oh dear, what a duffer you were. I did something similar to a red velvet dress I had made for a wedding. It put me so far behind I was hemming the dress while wearing it, in the car on the way to the ceremony.

Talk about last minute.

The bag is just lovely mate, will look forward to your giveaway.

This is why I don't sew. :P

It still looks gorgeous though, hint hint LOL
Ooops! Don't you hate it when you do that... and yes, you're not the only one to have done it and I don't even have a distracting 4 year old to use as an excuse. Also glad to hear I'm not the only one who has seam rippers scattered around the place.

It's always a relief to find I'm not the only one who does stuff like that. At least your problem is fixable as it would have been a shame to ruin such a pretty bag.
