Cute but....

Lincraft has in stock this incredibly cute sewing machine for kids. I think it is adorable. It reminds me of my grandmothers sewing room. Cute yes. But it is priced at $49.99. Personally, I think that is 20 dollars too much. If only it were priced at $25 -$30. I think I wouldn't feel so ripped off then. I keep looking at it whenever I go by. And each time I come back to the thought, it's just too overpriced for me.

I'd love to get the bubster a sewing machine. He thinks constantly about how things are constructed - whether that be in lego form, in stick form, in paper form, or fabric. Just last week he made a whole collection of guns using printers paper and tape. Goodness he was focused. Guns will do that I guess. He said, "You can make anything with tape, mommy! Look!" LOL

Imagine the possibilities if he had his own sewing machine. What kind of guns would he make then?? ;-) I dunno. I guess I will still keep looking around. There will be something that strikes as 'just right' eventually.

I've looked at that one, too...thinking the same as you. I opted for a $15 piece of plastic junk until my girl is seriously able to handle a real machine. In the meantime she ignores the $15 junkpiece and uses one of my domestic machines unplugged (turns the handwheel and sews up a storm). I reckon that - like me - she'll be sewing on a real machine by the time she starts school, and I'll get her a one of her own for xmas or something (Janome have a nice little one).
